The 2025 Green Bay Open took place this past Saturday, October 18th at Buzz Social in Suamico, bringing together some of the area’s top bowlers for an exciting day of competition and camaraderie.
🎳 Scratch Division
A total of 26 bowlers competed in the scratch division.
Early qualifying was led by Ryan King, who set the pace with 735 over three games. The cut to the Top 10 came in at 641, claimed by last year’s Bowler of the Year, Ken Kempf.
In the cashers round, Kempf climbed to 2nd place (1155) behind Jake Ziebarth (1166), with Rob Warren (1151) close behind. These three advanced to the eliminator finals, where all three bowled on the same pair with the low game eliminated each round.
In Game 1, Kempf rolled a 258 to lead the group, followed by Warren’s 225 and Ziebarth’s 211, eliminating Ziebarth. The final showdown saw Kempf continue his momentum, defeating Warren 253–198 to become this year’s Green Bay Open Champion!
🎯 Handicap Division
The handicap division featured 16 competitors. After the first three games, Halvor Katch led with 738, while Peter Harrsch secured the cut at 660.
Six bowlers advanced to the cashers round, where Josh Dvorak surged to the top with 1228 total, followed by Jayson O’Donohue (1162). The two met in the championship match, and O’Donohue delivered an impressive 275–238 victory to capture the handicap division title.
